Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal and Advocate Eureka Hospital in Eureka have been acquired by Urbana-based Carle health system.
Carle and Advocate Aurora Health announced Thursday they reached a definitive agreement. It includes other affiliated sites in Central Illinois, according to a news release.
Carle includes hospitals, physicians, health insurance, research and academic medical services for patients.
BroMenn and Eureka were acquired by Advocate Aurora in 2010. Advocate said given the evolving landscape and market dynamics, the organization’s strategy has changed, and its growth focus has shifted to other geographies at this time.
Patient care will not be impacted, according to the release.
