A second man is in custody in connection with a New Year’s Eve homicide case in Normal. Authorities arrested 19-year-old Dewon Griffin yesterday on first-degree murder charges in the death of 17-year-old Tariq Houston. Last week, 18-year-old Bloomington man Garrett Ahlfield was arrested for “acts related to” Houston’s death but not for the actual murder. Houston was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen in the 17-hundred-block of Putnam at a social gathering, and later died from his injuries.
