On Tuesday, 01/14/2020, at 10:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to an apartment at 10 Basil Way, Bloomington, for what was initially deemed a burglary. Upon further investigation officers learned that a group of males arrived at the complex with the intention of buying drugs from several residents. After arriving, the males, who were masked, battered one of the residents outside the apartment building and then entered the victim’s apartment, taking several pieces of electronic equipment before fleeing.
Further investigation led officers to an apartment complex in the 800 block of E. Washington, Bloomington, where they located a suspect vehicle. Officers conducted a search of an 818 E. Washington, Apt. 2, recovering stolen property, drugs and two handguns.
The Bloomington (IL) Police Department arrested five subjects in connection with this incident:
• Roger E. Mendiola, age 19, of Bloomington, IL., resident at 818 E. Washington, Apt. 2. Mendiola was arrested for Robbery and Possession of a Firearm Without A Firearm Owners Card (2 counts). Mendiola was transported to the McLean County Jail.
• Madison N. Goin, age 18, of Bloomington, IL., was arrested for Robbery. Goin was transported to the McLean County Jail.
• Tyrel D. Jackson, age 18, of Bloomington, IL., was arrested for Robbery. Jackson was transported to the McLean County Jail.
• Tremayne R. Stancle, age 18, of Bloomington, IL., was arrested for Robbery. Stancle was transported to the McLean County Jail.
• An additional juvenile male, age 17, of Bloomington, IL., was arrested for Robbery and transported to the McLean County Juvenile Detention Center.
