
United Way of McLean County today announced their annual partnership with the Bloomington-Normal VITA Foundation and Mount Moriah VITA (www.bnfreetaxservices.org) and the offering of free Income Tax Preparation and E-filing for qualifying individuals by IRS Certified Volunteers.
Tax sites open January 28, 2020 through April 13, 2020. Individuals who qualify include Single individuals with no dependents and an income of $35,000 or less along with Single individuals with dependents or married individuals with dependents and an annual income of $56,000 or less.
VITA Locations include:
- Heartland Community College: Workforce Development Center, Suite 3601, 1500 West Raab Road in Normal on Tuesday’s from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. or Thursday’s from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Wood Hill Towers: East Side Entrance, 104 East Wood Street in Bloomington on Monday’s from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. or Saturday’s from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon.
- Activity and Recreation Center (ARC): 600 East Willow Street in Normal on Friday’s from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Appointments only – call 309-888-9099.
- Western Avenue Community Center: 600 North Western Avenue in Bloomington on Fridays (February 7-April 10) from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Everyone is asked to arrive at these sites at least one hour prior to the closing time and plan to bring:

- tax documents such as their W-2, 1099, 1095A, etc.
- Social Security Card or ITIN for all persons on the return
- Government-issued photo ID
- Copy of their 2018 Federal Tax Return.
