Hy-Vee is making a big change to most of its stores.
Hy-Vee stores will be doing away with its 24-hour service.
A representative from Hy-Vee told KHQA that all Hy-Vee stores that are currently open 24 hours will be going to an open schedule that involves closing at night.
The new hours will begin Monday, February 10th.
Starting Monday, the Springfield location will be closed from midnight to 5 a.m.
Other Hy-Vee locations that did previously close overnight will retain the same hours.
Hy-Vee has 265 stores nationwide.
The change is due to a drop in customers during the later hours and the growing popularity of online shopping.
A representative with Hy-Vee says no employees will be losing their jobs due to the hour changes.
Instead, employees who worked the overnight hours will be re-allocated to work at different hours.
