Most of the accumulating snow will fall this afternoon and evening, though light snow will linger into Thursday.
Warmer air aloft will cause mixed precipitation over parts of east central and southeast IL, resulting in lower snow totals and ice accumulations under one tenth of an inch.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for much of central Illinois.
