
Today, just after 4 p.m., officers from the Normal Police Department, along with Normal Fire Personnel, responded to a parking deck at the corner of Franklin and Virginia Avenue in Normal for an individual who had fallen or jumped from the structure. Upon arrival, officers located a male lying unresponsive on the east side of the parking deck. There were obvious signs of severe trauma caused by the fall and the individual exhibited no signs of life.
Representatives from the coroner’s office responded and the male was pronounced deceased at the scene. The name of the decedent is being withheld pending notification of family and next of kin. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday March 13, 2020.
The preliminary investigation revealed the male jumped from the third level of the parking deck and fell to his death. The case remains under investigation by the Normal Police Department and the McLean County Coroner’s Office but there is no indication of foul play at this time.
