The Illinois Commerce Commission is working to stop utility disconnections, late notices, and fines as the economic impact of COVID-19 spreads.
The ICC voted unanimously yesterday to formalize Governor J.B. Pritzker and the ICC’s request that Illinois utilities end electric, natural gas, water, and wastewater disconnections during the COVID-19 crisis.
The order also requests that companies suspend late payment fees until May 1st, or when the virus is contained.
