
Officials announced there are a total of 422 cases of COVID-19 in Illinois as of Thursday, March 19.
This is an increase of 134 cases since Wednesday, March 18, including one in McLean County–a man in his 70s.
The cases occur in 22 counties.
In addition, three more people have died from COVID-19 in Illinois.
The three people include a Will County resident, a Cook County resident, and a Florida resident who was being treated in Sangamon County.
In response to the deaths, Illinois Department of Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike said:
“We ask everyone to please, stay home as much as possible so we can reduce the number of people who are infected and potentially suffer serious illness, including death.”
