
Joshua T. Schaller, 39, of Normal was arrested for DUI and allegedly striking a person in Bloomington on Sunday.
Schaller allegedly struck a person at about 7:38 p.m. in the 1000 block of West Market Street, according to the Bloomington Police Department.
Police were called to the scene for reports of a person, bench, and a utility pole being struck, when officers located a 38-year-old female victim who was hit by the truck. The woman had minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital, according to a release by the BPD.
According to the release, officers located the vehicle and Schaller in the 900 block of Mulberry Street after he drove it off the road and crashed into a vehicle.
Two juveniles were located inside the vehicle Schaller was driving during in the incident and were released to a parent or guardian.
Schaller was arrested for the following:
- Probation violation
- Endangering the life/health of a child
- Driving under the influence
- Failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident
- Traffic lane usage
- Leaving the scene of an accident – injury
- Aggravated reckless driving
- Driving upon sidewalk
- Illegal squealing/screeching of tires
