
A mother and two children died in a fatal fire in the early morning hours of Saturday in rural Lexington.
Firefighters from Lexington, Chenoa, Gridley, Towanda, Hudson and Normal responded to the call of a blaze at 25083 N. Main Street in rural Lexington at about 3:36 a.m..
An infant child was taken to OSF St. Joseph’s Medical center and was pronounced deceased.
Also located at the scene were the bodies of a child and the children’s mother.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the MABAS 41 Fire Investigation Team, The McLean County Sheriff’s Office, and the Illinois Stat Fire Marshall’s Office.
