Governor J.B. Pritzker is getting push back from state and local officials on his Restore Illinois phased reopening plan. Mayor Gary Manier of Washington, Illinois says the time frame set out by the governor takes too long to move between phases. Mayor John Kahl of East Peoria says the extended wait to move between phases could make or break small businesses. The city has set aside the governor’s plan and is enforcing its own rules. State Representative Ryan Spain says municipalities are being given no choice but to make their own decisions regarding the reopening of businesses.
