
Visitation is temporarily suspended after lightning struck the McLean County Detention Facility earlier this week.
The lightning strike has affected the inmate visitation system throughout the facility as well as the inmate phone system in certain housing areas of the jail.
No visitation is available for the entire facility and inmates housed in the annex also do not have phone service.
According to their Facebook posts, essential components were damaged after a lightning strike during the storms on Wednesday, July 15th adding that the service provider has been on site over the last two days troubleshooting the outage.
