McLean County Coroner Dr. Kathy Yoder says a single vehicle crash claimed the life of Austin D. Roof, age 45, of Bloomington early Saturday morning.
Preliminary autopsy opinion indicates that Mr. Roof died of multiple blunt injuries due to a motorcyclist striking a fixed object, reportedly sustained as the driver of the motorcycle. Roof was reportedly heading southbound on Center Street near the intersection of Armory Drive, in Bloomington. It is still unclear how the man lost control of the vehicle.
His passenger, who has also not been identified yet, was taken to a nearby hospital.
Toxicology testing is pending.
