Low-fare carrier Frontier Airlines announces new nonstop flights from Central Illinois Regional Airport (CIRA) to Las Vegas beginning this August. To celebrate the new service, Frontier is offering introductory fares starting at $49.
“We’re excited to announce new nonstop flights from Central Illinois Regional Airport to Las Vegas beginning this August, joining our existing nonstop service from BMI to both Denver and Orlando,” said Josh Flyr, vice president of network and operational design, Frontier Airlines. “Frontier is focused on ‘Low Fares Done Right’ and this new service will provide an affordable and convenient option for local residents to visit one of the top entertainment destinations in the world.”
Carl Olson, Executive Director of CIRA, said they are excited for the new partnership.
“As restrictions continue to be lifted, as things become more positive and vibrant we think it is time to start getting out there,” said Olson. “Start to reconnect with family and friends, start to make new memories and basically just start having fun again…it’s been a while. Frontier Airlines also thinks it is time to have fun. They think the sky is for everyone.”

At a public event held in the terminal building, a crowd up-roared in applause when Olson announced a Las Vegas flight.
Olson officially announced June 22 that the new destination added would be Las Vegas, which was met with thunderous applause from the audience at the public event.
“We’re very exited about this new service from Frontier, along with their ‘Low-Fares Done Right,’ ‘Discount Den’ and their ‘Kids Fly Free’ program,” said Olson.
The ‘Kids Fly Free’ program allows free travel to children ages 14 and under.
