A man is dead following an automobile accident last night near Ellsworth.
The accident occurred at the intersection of 2675 East 1000 North Road near Ellsworth at about 7pm. A 40-year-old male and driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased by McLean County Coroner Dr. Kathy Yoder at 7:30pm.
The passenger in the vehicle was transported to a local hospital.
The name of the decedent is being withheld pending notification of legal next of kin.
An autopsy is scheduled for July 6, 2021.
The McLean County Sheriff’s Department, Ellsworth Fire Department, and Leroy
Ambulance tended to the scene.
This incident remains under investigation by the McLean County Sheriff’s Office and the McLean County Coroner.
