Campustown Supply, a store which sells Illinois State University gear and textbooks, placed a sign on its door that reads “Anti-vaxxers are not welcome here, take your business elsewhere.”
Owner of Campustown Supply Daniel Maloney told WMBD TV he put up the signs after the recent surge in COVID-19 cases mainly caused by the Delta Variant.
“It is simply just a store policy. I feel an obligation to everyone that enters my store to protect them and keep them safe and I’m just using all the tools I have available to do that,” Maloney said told WMBD TV.
The signs getting a lot of attention on social media.
Ty Smith, the host of Cancel This on Cities 92.9 posted on Instagram,:
“They might as well put “whites only” knowing that the black/brown community are the least vaccinated. Is it possible to hide racism under “anti-vaxxers are not welcomed” just asking. This is Campus Town in the Bloomington/Normal, IL area. I think I may take a trip down there to ask the manager some questions. Be sure to share ESPECIALLY if you’re in the Bloomington area.”
