McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder and McLean County Sheriff Jon Sandage are releasing the following information regarding a body located in the water in Lake Bloomington, Hudson, Illinois, approximately 200 feet north of the intersection of 1750 East Road and Tilde Road.
On Oct.26, 2021, Metcom received a call from fishermen regarding a body located at the above stated location. McLean County Sheriff’s Office, the Hudson Dive Team,
and the McLean County Coroner’s Office responded.
The decedent was identified as David Roesch, age 58, of Saybrook.
He was pronounced deceased on Oct. 26.
“Preliminary autopsy results indicate that Roesch died from drowning with non-fatal injuries of the forehead and lips consistent with blunt trauma, likely from a motor vehicle crash into water. He did have severe hypertensive heart disease and obesity which would limit his physical reserve There was no evidence of an assault, or other injuries such as sharp or gunshot injuries, infection, or tumor. Circumstances as to how Roesch ended up in Lake Bloomington are currently under investigation by the McLean County Sheriff’s Office and the McLean County Coroner’s Office,” stated in a County Coroner press release.
