Bloomington, IL – On Monday, 1/24/2022, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Bloomington police officers were dispatched to the 600 block of W. Jefferson St. for a person who had been shot.
Upon arrival, officers located a 29-year-old male victim in an apartment with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. At 8:45 p.m., McLean County Coroner Dr. Kathleen Yoder responded to the scene and pronounced the gunshot victim deceased. Identification of the victim will not be released until the next of kin is notified.
Bloomington Police Department’s Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) detectives and Criminal Investigations Division (CID) detectives were also called to process and investigate the homicide. At this time, there have been no arrests made, no suspect(s) information to release, and there are no other injuries to report. The circumstances regarding the homicide are still under investigation.
