Illinois State University: “Due to the university’s weather closure, campus buildings, including the Bone Student and Milner Library, are also closed today and tomorrow. Our residence halls and residential dining centers are still open and staffed to serve students. If the campus suffers a power outage university staff will take steps to address the needs of on-campus housing students. At this time, we do not have any buildings open to the public due to the campus closure,” said spokesperson Eric Jome.
Ameren: “Currently [Wednesday, Feb. 2] we do not have any outages in the Bloomington/Normal area. Power outages usually are more prevalent when we have ice storms, as the heavy ice builds up on trees and wires. Tree limbs break and fall into our lines, causing them to break. Snow is not an issue for our infrastructure,” said Ameren spokesperson Stacey Stockton-Shangraw.
