Patriot Power Plug: Will Smith’s Slap…Was It Real?

“I’m a brown guy with an Alabama-backwoods-hill-billy name,” said Jobob, a TPUSA contributor and host of The Daily Caller.
Jobob, like Robert and Cat from The Morning Rush, have been drinking Will Smith memes from a firehouse for the last couple days.
“My first thought on this thing and I don’t know how many people had this, but I got a text while I was watching something else with my wife on the couch on Sunday night saying, ‘Will Smith just punched Chris Rock in this on the Oscars.’ My first immediate thought was the Oscars used to get about 40 million viewers throughout all of the 80s, all of the 90s, into the 2010s. It used to compete with the Super Bowl as the most popular TV show in America. It goes without saying nobody watches the Oscars anymore,” said Jobob on The Morning Rush.
Jobob said this “slap” was a brilliant public relations move for ABC, the host of the Oscars.
“It happened towards the end of the show and everyone and their mother decided to go tune in to see if Will Smith would win best actor,” said Jobob. “Will Smith, he’s also a big guy. If he wanted to put Chris Rock in the hospital he could have and I understand that he probably doesn’t want to do that on global TV, but he did what he did.”
Jobob, like Cat tends to wear a tin foil hat…Will Smith has been doing a lot of work for the Disney company since 2019. He was in Aladdin that made a billion dollars worldwide. He was just in this brand new series One Strange Rock, which is a nature documentary… Smith is currently working on season two.
“The Oscars have just been hemorrhaging viewers over the decade. Who carries the Oscars? ABC. Who owns ABC? The Walt Disney Company,” said Jobob, a frequent contributor on The Morning Rush. “You don’t think that maybe to cut a sweeter deal for his contract he might have helped ole Bob Chapek over there CEO of Disney and said ‘Hey man let me get 10 million more viewers on your show and maybe we can sweeten the pot on my next National Geographic narration contract.’”
Jobob and many viewerd of the ultimate “slap” sure thought it was staged, but Jobob thought there were some unplanned nuances.
“I feel like he was genuinely upset. I don’t know how familiar you are with Will Smith over the last couple of years, but it has not been good. His wife stepping out on him and all that type of stuff. Somebody said Chris Rock probably represented all the people that Jada has been dating for the last couple of years and has been public about,” said Jobob. “Maybe that’s where he took out all of his frustrations. I would imagine there’s a bit of truth to both of the conspiracies. What I can’t imagine is that there was no calculus in anybody’s head on how this was going to affect the ratings.”
Jobob said he believes that somebody from the Oscars somewhere was thinking ‘yes do it again Will Smith, please!’
“There was a hilarious tweet, I forget who the guy was [he said] “as a minor celebrity I feel like I have 24 to 36 hours to do anything I wanted and nobody would notice.’ This sort of stuff is exactly out of the movie industry to you always see before a big movie release,” said Jobob. “Lets say like Transformers is coming out they have an article in some news paper that says ‘caution if you suffer from epilepsy because it may cause a panic attack.’ That’s not real, but they figure out ways to snaggle their way onto the news. It’s a tale as old as time movie tradesman trick.”
