The City of Bloomington’s Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts forestry division has a surplus of mulch available free to residents at its facility located in Forrest Park at 1813 Springfield Road, Bloomington, Illinois.
“Recent trimming and tree maintenance have produced a vast surplus of mulch,” said Dave Lamb, City Forester and Assistant Superintendent of Parks, adding “We are happy to provide this service for the community.”
There are two distinct mulch piles located just past the Hike Haven facility in Forrest Park. The first pile to the immediate left is standard mulch and to the right is a double ground finer mulch.
Residents will have to self-load the mulch, as staff will not be able to assist.Mulch pickup is available daily beginning Monday, April 4 th from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
