State Senator Jason Barickman (R-Bloomington) released the following statement after the Illinois Senate adjourned in the early morning hours of April 9th:
“There was a great opportunity this year to provide substantial and permanent tax relief to Illinois families while still passing a balanced, responsible budget. Unfortunately, what we ended up with was Democrats trying to buy votes with tax gimmicks that end as soon as the election is over. Worse yet, with crime out of control across the state, we were able to secure some much-needed help for police, but nothing that actually holds criminals accountable.”
