Summer weather is here and with it festival season. The season kicks off in Heyworth today with Heyworth Hey Days. The festival, which is a pun of May Days, runs today through Sunday. Visitors to Hey Days can enjoy carnival rides, amusements, music, food and beverages.
Hey Days Coordinator Stacy Shoemaker says it’s “time for everybody to relax and have a good time and forget about COVID.” This is the first time Heyworth has been able to revive the festival since 2019.
If you are into politics, like we are at Cities 92.9, then you might find County Board Member Jim Soeldner out there at his booth that he is sponsoring for Republican candidates. If you find him, tell him you heard about Hey Days from Cities.
The whole town gets into the act with many residents having garage sales over the weekend. So if you are into morning garage sales followed by carnival food lunches it might be a good time to venture on out to Heyworth. After lunch you could visit some booths, enjoy carnival rides and then kick back with a cold one and enjoy good music later in the evening.
