The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 454 Auxiliary is seeking community donations for its annual fundraising group sale and bake sale.
Indoor and outdoor items in clean and good condition can be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Aug.17 at the VFW Post, 1006 E. Lincoln St., Bloomington. No clothing accepted this year, all other items accepted
Baked goods accepted August 18 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. from the community, packaged for sale. Forms will be available for tax credit.
This indoor event will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug.19 and Aug.20, and from 11a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug.21.
Proceeds will go towards the various veteran’s assistance programs.
These programs include helping veterans at Danville hospital and Veterans Homes in Quincy and Manteno; Land of Lincoln Honor Flights; Wreaths Across America; flags for local cemeteries; Operation Santa; boxes sent to active military; and youth scholarships to help local students.
