Heartland Community College is hosting a 5K race and 1K walk this fall to raise funds for student scholarships and programs.
The 11th annual Heartland Harvest 5K race is scheduled for Saturday, October 22 starting at 9 a.m. from the Fitness and Recreation Center on campus.
The 5K course leads runners through the HCC’s Normal campus on Raab Road to the Corn Crib and back, finishing at the Fitness and Recreation Center. The event also features a non-competitive 1K walk.
Runners will be chip-timed and awards will be given to the top three runners in each division. Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each age bracket. Registered participants receive a long-sleeve tech shirt (while supplies last), finisher pint glass, and sponsor items.
Participants can register in advance online or register on-site in the Fitness and Recreation Center beginning at 7:30 a.m. on race day. Advance registration for the Heartland Harvest 5K is $35 ($20 for HCC students and those 18 and under) if received by October 21. Race day registration is $40.
