This week, more than 300 golfers will arrive in Bloomington-Normal to compete in the 2022 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Boys Golf State Finals, which will be held Friday, October 7 and Saturday, October 8.
State Final participants will include both teams and individual qualifiers. Members of the top eight teams, and the top 40 individual scores of all remaining players not on one of the top eight teams, will advance to Day 2 of the State Finals. Class 1A participants will compete at Prairie Vista Golf Course, Class 2A at Weibring Golf Club at Illinois State University, and Class 3A at The Den at Fox Creek Golf Course. The tournament is open to the public with rounds starting each day at 8:30am.

Bloomington-Normal was awarded the Boys Golf State Final tournament in 2021 as part of a five-year hosting agreement with the IHSA. The bid to secure the event was presented by the Bloomington-Normal Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, City of Bloomington Golf Courses, and Weibring Golf Club at Illinois State University.
The estimated direct economic impact of hosting the 2022 IHSA Boys Golf State Finals in Bloomington-Normal is $194,360.
