Central Catholic High School began when St. Mary’s Elementary School added high school classes in 1889.
In 1928 a new building was opened across the street from St. Mary’s at 712 Center St. and the name changed to Trinity High School to match Trinity Catholic Church which is located next to the former St. Mary’s campus.
The name was changed to Central Catholic High School in 1967 when Epiphany, St. Patrick’s, Trinity, St. Mary’s, and Historical St. Patrick’s parishes joined to govern and subsidize catholic high school education in the area.
Central Catholic moved to its current location at 1201 Airport Road in the fall of 2003. The former facility on N. Center St. was then torn down in 2005.
According to the schools web site its mission statement is, “As a Christ-centered community, rooted in the Catholic faith, we promote lifelong learning through spiritual, personal, and academic excellence in a safe environment while fostering respect, responsibility, and integrity.”
The projected cost of educating a Central Catholic High student is $15,090 annually. The school only charges $8,295 per student.
Every student that attends CCHS receives a discount of $6,795 thanks to those that support catholic High School education. On top of that further discounts are available to qualifying families through financial assistance/scholarships.
