Credit Union President Tom Stewart – along with the Leadership Team and Board of Directors – announced the name change to members in late December with a dynamic direct mail piece.
“I am thrilled to announce our new name and present our new brand identity. Together, they will help us continue to serve our members and this community as we have for almost 83 years,’ said
President Tom Stewart. “As the Credit Union for All, we will move into the future with a name that we know truly reflects who we are and what we do.”
While the new name does serve to acknowledge the commitment to creating opportunities and a safe and welcoming environment for everyone – a cornerstone of the credit union’s mission since
1940 – the scope of what it represents is much larger.
“We are truly the credit union for all. We understand that everyone’s path to financial security is different. We are here to help you no matter where you are on your journey,” says Stewart.
Board Chairman Ben Ryburn says the biggest challenge for the credit union has been in conveying that the restrictions on credit union membership no longer exist as they did in the past.
The Credit Union for All is the designated credit union partner for over 60 select area employers including OSF St. Joseph, Bridgestone-Firestone, Ferrero and all McLean County Schools including District 87 and Unit 5 in Bloomington-Normal.
Membership in the credit union is open to anyone who lives or works in McLean County or who makes a nominal donation to the Dollars for Scholars scholarship program.
“Our new name will go a long way to removing that hurdle and allowing us to help more people,” says Stewart.
Ryburn emphasizes that the credit union has not been sold or merged with another credit union.
“We really aren’t changing the way we do business”, adds Stewart. “This is not about leaving anything or anyone behind. Part of the responsibility we have to our members lies in facilitating growth. Reenergizing our brand and leading with our strength will set us apart and help ensure that we remain a vital resource to our members and community for years – and generations – to come.”
