Normal Police arrested a 14-year old male juvenile on February 7, 2023, after a lengthly investigation into two separate armed robbery incidents.
On 12/7/22, two victims were approached by suspects in Fairview Park who displayed a firearm and threatened the victims. The suspects took the victim’s cellphones and ran from the area.
On 12/8/22, a victim was walking on the Constitution Trail near Fairview Park when he was approached by 3 males. One male displayed a firearm. The suspect took the victim’s cellphone and fled from the area.
The Normal PD Criminal Investigations Division began an investigation into these incidents which eventually led to one juvenile male being identified. The evidence gathered by NPD also confirmed the same juvenile male was responsible for both armed robbery incidents.
Normal PD completed our investigation which was reviewed by the McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office. The juvenile was arrested and was detained at the Mclean County Juvenile Detention Facility.
