On March 30th Bloomington Police responded to a report of shots fired at Turnberry Square Apartments on Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. at Cottage Ave. Upon entering the apartment officers found an armed subject who pointed his firearm at them. Oficers fired. The subject was incapacitated.
State’s Attorney Erika Reynolds has reviewed the matter and found the shooting “justified, reasonable and necessary.”
After the shooting officers provided aid to the subject until paramedics arrived. The subject’s injuries were not life threatening.
The McLean County Sherriff’s office and Illinois State Police assisted in providing an independent review for the State’s Attorney’s office.
