A drag queen who acts out the slaughtering and gutting of animals will be featured as a performer for the Town of Normal’s “Make Music Normal” two-day music festival.
The controversial Drag show starts at 10 p.m. tomorrow, June 23, 2023, and it is unclear at this time if ID will be required to get into the performance held at the Normal Theater.
Rita Tarot and Friends was promoted on the Facebook event page authored by Normal LIVE, a sponsor of Make Music Normal, a “free” musical festival put on buy the town. Promoted on the Town website: “With stages all over Uptown Normal and participatory experiences designed to let guests of all ages and skill levels engage with music, this free-to-attend festival is not to be missed!”
It is unclear if Rita Tarot and Friends will be paid by the town to come perform, this publication has placed a FOIA for documentation of any and all purchases/payments made for the festival.
Rita, a drag queen, post pictures and videos of his performances. He calls himself the “Supreme Witch of Chicago” and a few months ago posted a video where he and another drag queen slaughters a white stuffed rabbit with a knife.
But why a stuffed white bunny? Some experts say a white rabbit is symbolic to “purity, goodness and fertility” and that this practice can be associated with a common Satanic ritual. In fact in a small Italian city, in 2014, city officials deemed an incident a “Satanic Ritual” after finding nine mutilated white rabbits in a cemetery in a nylon bag.
