The Normal Police Department and Normal Fire Department responded to 11 Uptown Circle at the train station on Saturday at 9:14 pm for a report of a pedestrian struck by an Amtrak train.
Normal Police Officers discovered a 31-year-old male lying underneath the Amtrak train. Normal Fire Department personnel arrived and began extrication of the patient. The patient was transported by Normal Fire to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The circumstances surrounding this incident are being reviewed by our department but do not appear to be suspicious in nature. Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact the Normal Police Department at 309-454-9535.
