More migrant warming buses
The city of Chicago has increased the number of CTA buses that are being used overnight at police stations to help keep migrants warm. Mayor Brandon Johnson’s administration said 21 of the buses were being sent to police stations where many asylum seekers are staying temporarily.
There are also warming buses deployed at the site where migrants arrive to the city from the southern U.S. border. The Johnson administration is working on a plan to house hundreds of migrants in winterized tents, but the idea has been met with resistance in some communities.
