- Kathy Michael, McLean County Clerk, will conduct a Lottery, at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 6, to determine the order of appearance of candidate names on the 2024 General Primary Election ballot. This Lottery proceeding is open to candidates, media, and all members of the public. The Lottery will be conducted at the McLean County Clerk’s office, located at: the Government Center 115 East Washington Street, Room 102 in Bloomington.
- Thanksgiving DUI patrol numbers for Normal and Bloomington were made public in press releases yesterday: NPD officers made nine traffic stops, issued 15 citations and had two arrests for DUI-related offenses while Bloomington officers made two DUI arrests, one felony arrest, one suspended/revoked license, five uninsured motorists, four speeding citations and one drug arrest.
- The town of Normal’s planning commission next Thursday is scheduled to review plans for the Essex that will contain 228 apartments and 24 attached townhomes on nearly 17 acres on the northeast corner of Beech Street and East Shelbourne Drive in the Collie Ridge subdivision. The committee will forward its recommendations to the town council.
- The U.S. Supreme Court dockets another challenge to Illinois’ gun ban as the Illinois Supreme Court rules FOIA of FOID information are not allowed. Greg Bishop reports.
