The season started with 673 high school girls’ basketball teams across the state; now only 16 teams remain to compete for the 2024 State Championship titles.
The state’s top high school girls Class 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A basketball teams will compete for their title at the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Girls Basketball State Finals on Thursday-Saturday, February 29 – March 2, 2024, at Illinois State University’s CEFCU Arena. All championship games will take place on Saturday with Class 1A at 11 a.m., Class 2A at 1:00 p.m., Class 3A at 5:30 p.m., and Class 4A at 7:30 p.m.
Hosting events like the IHSA Girls Basketball State Finals are a win for the Bloomington-Normal economy. Zach Dietmeier, Vice President of Operations at the Bloomington-Normal Area Convention and Visitors Bureau says, “The long tradition of hosting the Girls Basketball State Finals at Illinois State University is as strong a partnership as March and championship basketball. We welcome the players, coaches, families, and fans to the area and can’t wait to show them the Bloomington-Normal
atmosphere and hospitality.”
Around 18,000 visitors are expected to fill CEFCU Arena and the Bloomington-Normal community this weekend with an estimated direct economic impact of around $1.4 million.
Tickets are $11 and can be purchased through https://goredbirds.evenue.net/. In the event that a fan cannot purchase a ticket online, tickets can be purchased with cash only at the North Entrance of CEFCU Arena.
