McLean County Clerk Kathy Michael in a press release on Thursday stated:
“Our office was informed today of a recent publication in the McLean County Times releasing voter information not only regarding McLean County voters but many other counties’ voter information throughout Illinois.
This voter information published did not come from the office of McLean County Clerk. Immediately upon being informed of this publication, we contacted the State Board of Elections.
This information was released/obtained by LGIS, Local Government Information Services, which is believed to have obtained the voter information when it was affiliated with a political action committee in 2016.
The State Board of Elections has contacted LGIS and requested that it remove voters’ personal information from its websites.”
Cities 92.9’s host of Tom’s Ten, Tom Davis, spoke with Kathy Michael Thursday afternoon by phone to discuss the incident.
