The City of Bloomington is announcing a special breakfast event preceding the Mayor’s State of the City Address, scheduled for May 1, 2024, at The Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA), 600 N. East St., Bloomington, 61701.
This year’s State of the City Address will highlight the City’s accomplishments, ongoing initiatives, and future plans under the leadership of Mayor Mboka Mwilambwe. To kick off the day’s festivities, the City will host a breakfast beginning at 9:00 AM on the BCPA stage, offering attendees the opportunity to network and engage with community leaders, local officials, and fellow residents before the main event.
Breakfast will include freshly brewed coffee and juices, assorted pastries, and seasonal fruit – a perfect start to a morning of reflection and vision for Bloomington’s future.
Following the breakfast, guests will get the chance to hear Mayor Mwilambwe share insights into the City’s progress, challenges, and opportunities ahead. The address will encompass key topics such as economic development, infrastructure projects, community initiatives, and more, underscoring the City’s commitment to growth, innovation, and inclusivity.
“We’re thrilled to host this breakfast event ahead of the Mayor’s address,” said Katherine Murphy, Communications and External Affairs Manager for the City. “It’s a great opportunity for the community to come together, celebrate our achievements, and reaffirm our collective vision for the future of Bloomington.”
Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by close of business on April 22, 2024.
