As the summer season approaches, outdoor dining and events return to Downtown Bloomington, causing frequent road closures and narrowing some roadways. Connect Transit will implement a long-term detour around the core of Downtown, allowing safer travel for our passengers, vehicles, and pedestrians and a better experience for diners. We understand the inconvenience this may cause for some of our passengers; however, this detour provides the safest option for our passengers, operators, and others traveling through Downtown Bloomington.
Effective Monday, April 29, 2024, the following detours will take effect:
Southbound travel along Center Street will be moved to Madison Street, beginning at Monroe Street. The following turn by turn directions will apply to the Green, Lime, and Blue Routes.
Right on Monroe Street
Left on Madison Street
Left on Front Street
Stop at the appropriate location at the transfer area.
Northbound travel along Main Street will be moved to East Street, beginning at Front Street and continuing as the vehicle proceeds along the route. The following turn by turn directions will apply to the Green and Blue Routes.
Front Street to East Street

Resume route at East Street and Market Street
Northbound travel along Main Street will be moved to East Street, beginning at Front Street and ending at Market Street. The following turn by turn directions will apply to the Lime Route.

Buses will not stop at current stops located at:
Center Street and Jefferson Street
Main Street and Jefferson Street
Passengers should instead use stops at:
Market Street and Center Street

The Front Street Transfer Area
The bus stop at Main Street and Market Street is currently located on the South side of Market Street; this stop will be moved to the North side of Market Street.
