Two Heartland Community College Esports student athletes captured individual championships at the National Junior College Athletic Association Esports (NJCCAE) tournament.
In Madden 24, Jonathan “Jono” Edmonson emerged as the National Champion after an 11-1 season. In capturing the Madden 24 championship Edmonson made NJCAAe history as the first to win nationals across two different sport games. Edmonson is a previous two-time National Champion in NBA2k.
Caleb Spicer captured the National Championship in Street Fighter 6 with a final record of 18-2.
This academic year Hawks Esports had players competing in League of Legends, CoD, Rocket League, SSBU, NBA2k, and Madden.
