A death investigation is underway after a body was discovered at Midwest Fiber Inc. in Normal, Illinois. The grim discovery was made by employees on the evening of September 4, 2024, at approximately 6:04 p.m., when they found the deceased individual amid material being processed at the facility, located at 422 White Oak Road.
Upon being alerted, officers from the Normal Police Department (NPD) responded to the scene, along with personnel from the Normal Fire Department and the McLean County Coroner’s Office. Authorities have identified the deceased as a 34-year-old male, though his name has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators from the NPD’s Patrol and Investigations Divisions were joined by the Illinois State Police in gathering information. The cause of death remains undetermined as investigators await the results of an autopsy and toxicology report, according to police.
