Miller Park Zoo (MPZ) will transform into a tropical paradise for its highly anticipated annual fundraiser, ZooDo, on Saturday, September 21 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. This year’s event, themed “Ignite the Night: A Lavish Luau to Benefit the Rainforest,” promises an unforgettable evening of entertainment, dining, and philanthropy.
The Miller Park Zoological Society (MPZS) is set to host this exclusive gala to raise funds for a new habitat in the zoo’s rainforest. The highlight of the fundraising effort is the anticipated return of a beloved species—sloths. The new exhibit will allow visitors to experience these fascinating creatures up close once more.
Unlike previous years, ZooDo will offer a fresh format with activities spread across the zoo, the lawn of Miller Park, and the Miller Park Pavilion. The evening will commence at 5:00 PM with guests exploring the zoo, enjoying cocktails, and participating in a silent auction within the Katthoefer Animal Building.
At 6:00 PM, attendees will be treated to a vibrant display of Polynesian culture, featuring fire and hula dancers from Aloha Chicago on the Miller Park lawn. This will be complemented by appetizers and drinks. The evening will continue with a dinner and live auction starting at 7:00 PM.
One of the evening’s highlights includes a raffle of a stunning 14K yellow gold oval-shaped emerald and diamond drop pendant, along with matching earrings donated by Bremer Jewelry. The raffle will take place during the dinner, with tickets available for purchase. Participants do not need to be present to win.
Tickets for the ZooDo gala and raffle can be purchased online at ZooDo Gala Ticket Sales. In addition, silent auction bidding will open to the public on September 16 at the same link, allowing those unable to attend the event in person to participate.
The funds raised during ZooDo will support ongoing efforts to enhance animal exhibits and habitats at Miller Park Zoo, which has been a community staple for 133 years. The Miller Park Zoological Society, founded in 1959, plays a crucial role in supporting the zoo through fundraising, educational programs, and community outreach.
