State Senator Sally Turner is excited to invite the community to a free fishing derby for children of all ages at Weldon Springs State Park. This family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Participants will not need a fishing license to join in the fun, and all necessary fishing equipment will be provided for those who do not have their own gear. The event also features free refreshments and offers attendees a chance to win prizes.
Senator Turner emphasizes the importance of outdoor activities for children, saying, “This fishing derby is a wonderful opportunity for kids to enjoy nature, learn new skills, and engage with the community.”
