Heartland Community College (HCC) is bringing back its popular Halloween-themed event, the Heartland Haunted Harvest 5K race, along with a 1-mile kids’ fun run, to support Heartland Athletics. This exciting event is set to take place on Sunday, October 27, at noon, starting from the Fitness and Recreation Center on HCC’s Normal campus.
Now in its 12th year, the Heartland Haunted Harvest 5K continues to offer a fun and engaging way for the community to get active while supporting a great cause. This year’s event includes:
- 5K race or walk for individuals
- 5K team race
- 1-mile fun run for kids
Participants will enjoy a chip-timed race, ensuring accurate tracking of their efforts. Awards will be given to the top two finishers in each division, the team with the top time, and the largest team. For those looking to embrace the Halloween spirit, there’s even an award for the Best-Dressed participant, though costumes are not required.
Anyone registering for the 5K race by September 30 is guaranteed to receive an exclusive tech shirt. Early registration ensures runners get a piece of the Heartland Haunted Harvest 5K experience with this wearable memento.
