Nearly All Campaign Projects Completed Or Underway
Bloomington, IL – Less than one year after publicly launching its $10 million Vision Campaign, Central Catholic President Sean Foster announced that the school has met and exceeded its ambitious campaign goal. “It is with immense gratitude and joy that I announce the successful completion of our Vision capital campaign. Thanks to the belief and investment of our Saints family, we have exceeded our goal by raising $10,407,150! This achievement marks a pivotal moment for our school, as we embark on an exciting new chapter of growth and excellence at Central Catholic.”
Seventy percent of funds raised through the Vision campaign will be used to invest in key areas to support students and teachers, aimed at strengthening the academic experience and overall well-being of students. The other 30% of funds have been allocated for capital improvements. “This campaign is a reflection of the deep faith and commitment of our Central Catholic community,” said Vision Campaign Chairs
Jared and Nikki Hall, “because every gift represents a shared hope for the future of our school.” The school, which publicly launched the campaign on January 31, 2023, has already implemented several campaign initiatives.
The school’s endowment will increase by $3 million to provide more tuition assistance and increase teacher compensation. Annually, over 50% of the school’s student body qualifies and receives tuition assistance. As part of attaining this goal, Central Catholic has added five more full scholarships.
The Egbers & Morris Wellness Counselor position will be posted later this month to support the students’ mental health and wellness needs. The campaign has already funded a Learning and Behavior Specialist position, filled over the summer, to support student success at all levels.
A new track and synthetic turf was installed on Hundman Field earlier this year, marking the first visible sign of the Vision campaign. Renovation of school entrances and the student commons is scheduled to be completed by the beginning of the 2025-26 school year.
The Vision campaign has had an impact on Central Catholic’s enrollment as well. “We have received a record number of applications for the 2025-26 school year, and our freshman class is already at full capacity. We’ve established a waitlist and anticipate one next year as well,”Foster said. The school’s current structure can effectively teach between 105-110 students per class. Principal Christopher McGraw added, “It’s important for us to keep our class sizes small, so we’re in a position now where we need to start looking at hiring additional teachers to meet the needs of our students.”
David and Jennifer Bonenfant, Vision Campaign Co-Chairs added, “Vision is about doing something today for tomorrow. It’s about the collective good of our community.” Foster explained that the impact of the campaign will reach far beyond the current student body, “These improvements will have a generational impact on our school. We also desire to be a pillar in our community, which means we still have a lot of work to do to build upon the success of this campaign.”
