After nearly five years of dedicated service, Donna Boelen has made the decision to step down from the Bloomington City Council, effective immediately.
“Donna has been an incredible advocate for her ward and our entire city,” said Mayor Mboka Mwilambwe. “Her dedication, compassion, and thoughtful approach to tough issues have been invaluable. We’re so grateful for her service and wish her all the best as she steps away.”
City Manager Jeff Jurgens shared his appreciation as well, noting, “Donna’s commitment to improving Bloomington has had a lasting impact. Her thoughtful leadership will certainly be missed.”
Mayor Mwilambwe will be appointing a replacement to fill the Ward 2 vacancy, those interested in the position are invited to email a resume and cover letter to Cecilia Reichert at creichert@cityblm.org by end of day January 6, 2025. Under the law, the Mayor has 60 days to make the appointment.
