The Bloomington Police Department has debunked rumors circulating on social media about shots being fired at Eastland Mall on the evening of January 11, 2025.
According to a statement released by the department, officers were dispatched to Eastland Mall at approximately 6:03 p.m. in response to a report of a burglary. While there was a police presence at the scene, authorities confirmed that no shots were fired, and no evidence of gunfire was found.
The department emphasized the importance of verifying information before sharing it online, cautioning that unverified claims can create unnecessary fear and confusion.
“The investigation into the reported burglary is ongoing,” the statement added.
