A two-day human trafficking operation led by Illinois State Police in Bloomington has resulted in the arrest of six men accused of attempting to arrange sexual encounters with minors.
The operation, conducted on January 8 and 9, charged the suspects with multiple felonies, including traveling to meet a minor, indecent solicitation, solicitation to meet a child, and grooming. Five of the suspects, including Bloomington residents Nathan Hansen, 45, and David Teran, 25, have been released from custody under specific conditions. Michael Morris, 33, of Forest City, remains jailed, facing 10 felony charges compared to five for the others.
The released suspects have court dates set for January 24 and 31.
The Illinois State Police emphasized the seriousness of human trafficking, defining it as using “force, fraud, or coercion” to exploit individuals for commercial sex, labor, or services. The investigation involved multiple agencies, including local law enforcement and state task forces
