A Clinton man has been arrested on multiple child pornography charges following an investigation by the Bloomington Police Department’s (BPD) Cyber Crimes Unit.
David Breeden, 45, was taken into custody on February 3, 2025, after authorities uncovered evidence linking him to the production and distribution of child sexual abuse material. The investigation began after a technology company reported the illegal activity to the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
BPD detectives executed several search warrants, leading to the discovery of incriminating evidence. A warrant was subsequently issued for Breeden’s arrest, and members of the BPD Street Crimes Unit, along with U.S. Marshals, apprehended him without incident.
Breeden faces nine charges, including seven counts of child pornography and two counts involving a victim under the age of 13.
Authorities encourage anyone with information about the case to contact Detective Paul Swanlund at 309-434-2373 or via email at Pswanlund@cityblm.org.
