JoAnn Stores announced today the closure of nearly 500 locations nationwide, including 26 in Illinois. Despite the widespread shutdowns, the fabric and craft retailer’s stores in Bloomington and Peoria will remain open.
However, customers in Champaign and Peru will soon lose their JoAnn locations, as both stores are set to close. The company, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last month for the second time in a year, is struggling to restructure its operations.
Going-out-of-business sales for the Champaign and Peru stores will begin Saturday. Meanwhile, JoAnn locations in Bloomington and Peoria will continue business as usual.
